Laca Wong Hammond is a Vice President in the New York office of Shattuck Hammond Partners, focused on the firm’s real estate investment banking activities including single asset and portfolio dispositions, sale/leasebacks, seniors’ housing financings, and raising both debt and equity capital.

Prior to joining Shattuck Hammond, Ms. Hammond was a vice president at Merrill Lynch in the internal Corporate Finance group. Her primary responsibilities included the management of the firm’s fixed income investor relations and rating agency matters both domestically and overseas. She also conducted strategic analyses on the firm’s capital structure and businesses, including its real estate practice. From 2000 to 2004, Ms. Hammond was an associate at iStar Financial. She assisted in the firm’s capital raising activities, raising almost $4 billion of debt and equity. Ms. Hammond supported the firm’s efforts in securing credit rating upgrades, which eventually led to the company’s investment grade status. She also helped manage investor relations for the firm. Ms. Hammond began her real estate career at JP Morgan’s Real Estate and Lodging Investment Banking group in New York.

Ms. Hammond received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Cornell University majoring in Communications. She also spent a year focusing on finance and economics at the London School of Economics. Ms. Hammond currently serves as a Board Member of Chen Dance Center, a not-for-profit performing arts school and theatre in lower Manhattan.
