Barbara Shattuck is a Managing Director of Shattuck Hammond Partners. In a professional career that has spanned more than 25 years, Ms. Shattuck has specialized in developing innovative strategies to meet the financial needs of healthcare companies and not-for-profit organizations. She is a distinguished financial advisor and healthcare investment banking specialist who has worked with many leading multi-hospital systems, healthcare providers, managed care companies and physician group practices, including: HealthNet, George Washington University Hospital and University Physicians, Arizona. Ms. Shattuck had been a Managing Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers Securities LLC and was a Founding Partner of Shattuck Hammond Partners Inc.
She began her career as a Bond Rating Analyst at Standard & Poor's Corporation for healthcare and educational credits. She later served as Vice President and Managing Coordinator for the Health Care Finance Group of Goldman Sachs & Co., prior to co-founding Cain Brothers, Shattuck & Company in 1982. For engagements involving taxable and tax-exempt financings, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions and strategic capital planning services, she has counseled many of the most prestigious multi-hospital systems, health service companies, academic medical centers, community hospitals, educational and other nonprofits, as well as healthcare authorities in Illinois, New Jersey, Michigan, Massachusetts, Missouri and West Virginia.
A graduate of Connecticut College, Ms. Shattuck serves on the boards of Connecticut College, Tufts Associated Health Plans, the University of Arizona Research Corporation, Sunlife Insurance Company of New York, the Paul Taylor Dance Company and the New York Citizen's Budget Commission, Inc. She is listed in Who's Who of American Women and Who's Who in the World.
